Dear Parents and Students of Ocean Air School:
It is hard to believe that summer is coming to an end. We hope that you have had a wonderful break filled with fun family activities enjoyed at a calm pace under the beautiful, blue skies of San Diego. All of us at Ocean Air are anxiously awaiting the start of school, and we are very much looking forward to seeing you and your child(ren).
As the big day approaches we wanted to update you with a few important items and dates. To begin with, please remember that this is your school and we encourage your involvement. Since we recognize that parents are their children’s first and most important teachers, we look forward to your cooperation and involvement to provide your child with the best education possible.
Each new school year comes with exciting changes. Over the summer several changes were made due to retirements and changes in enrollment. Tanya Lubomudrov will be teaching fourth grade, Leah Hemingway and Laura McCarthy will be the fifth and sixth members of the third grade team, Sheila Bakhtar and Jennifer Delliquadri will be sharing a third grade classroom, Meg Jackson will be moving to the second grade team, and Leandra Kalt and Jackie Boysen will be sharing a second grade classroom.
In addition to the familiar faces in new places, we are welcoming 8 new additions to our staff. Pam Barger and Rafaela Zanetti will be joining us in fifth grade, Stacie Fennell will be teaching science, and Paul Carby will be our second physical education teacher working on Tuesdays. Additionally, we are happy to add Dana Reynolds and Sara Boer as our Education Specilaists, Heather Mulno who will serve as our school psychologist, and Adelina Kazmierowicz who will serve as an additional speech and language pathologist. We are so lucky to have enthusiastic, experienced educators join our fabulous Ocean Air staff!
